The Billings Symphony soars to new heights on Opening Night with guest artists Tatyana Petruk and Olga Pikhienko. The evening begins with Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8, which combines the kinetic rhythm of the New World Symphony with the soulful melodies of Dvorak’s Czech homeland. The second half of the evening transports you to Tchaikovsky’s world of magic and fantasy with music from Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake, interpreted by legendary contortionist Olga Pikhienko of Cirque du Soleil fame performing on balancing canes and Russian world champion aerialist Tatyana Petruk performing on aerial silks. The combination of Tchaikovsky’s gorgeous symphonic scores with the thrilling artistry of the cirque performers will leave you breathless.
